I used to have one of these things when I was a kid. I called him Hideki Tojo.

I hit a snake a couple weeks ago with the mower. Sad times

Funny, I shot a snake 3 times last time I mowed.

Shot? What did you use that made it take 3 shots?

.45. Wanted to make sure it was dead.

I used to get in trouble while mowing because I would chase snakes down on purpose with the riding mower... Dad wanted nice straight lines, I wanted less snakes.

Only have like 2 slugs for our .410, plus the .45 was in my drawer and ready to go.

Nice. We never find anything worth keeping while mowing. My wife mowed yesterday and found a redhead. She chased it out into the road and ran it over a few times. This is what was left.

Yeah these little painted turtles can be a lot of fun. I had a roommate in college who kept one and would let him run around the house once a day. They’re pretty cool to watch scurry around investigating things.

We have lots of snakes, but I never seem to find them when mowing. Mostly just lizards and geckos. Usually as parts of them are being spit out of the mower :-/

What’s left of a Texas giant redheaded centipede. They are not fun to have in the house so we try to kill them in the yard first. We had one get in last year and it scared the hell out of my daughter. I can’t find the photo of that one right now... Here is one from the web of what these things looks like. We see them pretty often this time of year in South Texas.

San Antonio. They are more of a desert critter, so they are mostly in south and west Texas, New Mexico and northern Mexico. The rain seems to drive them out of hiding and we’ve had a wet spring here so we’re seeing a lot more of them than usual. Even when it’s dry I’ll see one a few times a year in the yard.
